Studio Inspired Sessions
Studio Inspired Sessions are sessions that take place indoors and usually include a styled theme and/or backdrop of some kind. These super fun sessions include props, specific lighting, and detailed editing to achieve beautiful images! Prices vary.
Starting at $225 | up to 60min.
Destination Sessions
Going on vacation? Take me with you! Whether it be the beach or the mountains, let's 'capture your light and shine' wherever you escape to!
*Destinations must be within driving distance (up to 250 miles). Travel Fee will incur after 250m at $0.65per mile.

This additional price covers wear and tear, professional cleaning of items after sessions, and helps grow the closet for a larger selection for you and other clients. What is included with your sessions?
Depending on the session type will determine the length of time allotted for your session. But all sessions include; Professionally edited images uploaded to a private client gallery and access to the print store for high quality print products that are delivered straight to you.
***The Client Closet is now available when you book A Lucent, Radiance, Studio Inspired Session, Destination Session, or Mini Session. All items are $30 each and added to the session booking price.
***A full portrait session (60min) does include a complimentary client gift.

What should I wear for my session?
For your session, it is best to choose clothing that reflects your personal style while also considering the location, weather, and mood of the shoot. But keep in mind, you are the subject and the clothing you choose should accentuate you and your features. Here are some general tips:
-opt for solid colors or subtle patterns
-avoid large logos or busy prints
-choose clothing that does not attract attention to itself and distract from you, the subject
-Don’t over accessorize
-It can be helpful to coordinate outfits with other participants in a group session
Ultimately, wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. If you have any specific themes or preferences for the session, please let me know at the time of booking or in the days leading up to the session. I’ll be happy to provide more tailored recommendations. I look forward to capturing beautiful images of you!
Can I change outfits during the shoot?
Of course! But please be mindful of the time wardrobe changes may take away from the amount of photos taken during the allotted time of the session. Choose a full portrait session (60min) if you plan to have one or multiple wardrobe changes during the session.
Be sure that the location has an available private area for changing outfits within close proximity to the shoot.
Also, be sure to ask me about my client closet and save time and money by not having to shop for that new outfit which you'll likely never wear again, just to have for a photo session!
Can I extend the session on the day of?
Due to the possibility of scheduling restraints in the likely event that I have multiple sessions that day, I cannot guarantee extended session times the day of the shoot. I will however make the most of the allotted session to capture wonderful moments for you. If you have any specific shot preferences or needs for your shoot let’s chat about that at the time of booking or days leading up to your session. I’ll do my best to always accommodate my clients within the original timeframe.
Do you travel for a shoot?
Absolutely! I am more than happy to travel within driving distance for your photography session. To better assist you, just let me know the specific location or area you have in mind at the time of booking. This will allow me to ensure feasibility and plan accordingly. Additionally, please note that there may be a small travel fee associated with sessions conducted outside of my regular area of service. Once I have more details about what you have in mind for your shoot, we can work together to make the necessary arrangements. Travel Fee: $0.50 per mile for any distance outside of the 50 mile radius of my assigned area of service.
Do I have to order prints through you?
In addition to receiving access to your very own client gallery for viewing and downloading images, you are also able to purchase prints, greeting cards, and wall art all from your private gallery as an added client incentive. These high quality print products can be ordered and promptly delivered straight to your door, without the hassle of downloading and uploading images into multiple platforms. While it is certainly not a requirement, ordering prints from me allows you to support my photography business further, take advantage of promotional pricing on print products (such as free shipping and coupon codes), and enables Rae of Light Photography LLC to continue offering exceptional photography experiences.
What kind of gear do you use?
For my photography sessions, I currently use a Nikon D5600. I rely on four different lenses to capture a wide range of shots. The first is the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR interchangeable lens, the second is the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR telephoto zoom lens, the third is the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens with Auto Focus, and the fourth is the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens with Auto Focus. These lenses, combined with my Nikon D5600 Camera, allow me to capture stunning images with clarity and detail. In addition to my camera equipment, I also have background and lighting equipment to enable me to capture images indoors. With this equipment I can create studio-like portraits, headshots, etc. I look forward to working with you!
Are RAW/Unedited images available to clients?
No, I do not include the RAW/Unedited images to my clients for several reasons. The main reason is to protect my creative work, my business, and my name by not allowing access to the unfinished images that I capture which are copyrighted by me. Additionally, I shoot my images in a RAW file format which means the images are not compatible on all devices until they are compressed into a smaller file format. Finally, does a painter give you a rough sketched piece of artwork on a blank canvas when you pay for a completed piece of artwork?
No they do not. Editing the images that I, the photographer, capture is part of the photography process and included in the price that I charge for my services. It is somewhat offensive for a non-photographer client to ask for unedited/RAW images from a professional photographer when the editing process is a major, time consuming, tedious, and crucial final step to the process of creating and completing photographic images. Please do not ask for unedited/RAW images from me and be sure to review my work before you decide to book with me to make sure that my editing style meets your image preferences. Thank you so much!
